Okay, so I’m typing. I’m doing this. I’m FINALLY doing this!
The story so far…
Way back when, I started what was then named Want.Wall – my very own corner of the internet where I talked fashion and beauty for anyone who might stumble across my little slice. Egged on by my uni tutors to start a blog – we were doing a journalism degree, after all – I (somewhat irregularly) posted my latest fashion finds, current nail polish faves and all round beauty musings. But we fell out of love, the blog and I.
Trying to fit blogging around my studies and part time job just seemed impossible, and then squeezing it in around full time work after I’d waved goodbye to student life, seemed even harder. And as time marched on, the pressure to start over became more and more daunting. For a long time, I lacked the motivation to post anything at all. I’m a perfectionist through and through, and being so addicted to reading blogs from the likes of Lily Pebbles and Hello October, I chose to avoid my own entirely rather than putting something out there that I didn’t think would be good enough.
After three years, yes years, of not posting a single thing I decided enough was enough. This had gone on far too long, and I NEEDED to get back on the blogging horse. But it had to be all or nothing. I didn’t want to put just any old thing out there. It needed to be something I was proud to call mine and that I was inspired to keep going.
And so Mag Hag was born. A total site refresh was in order, and after finally finding the right web designer for me, we set about polishing a once-loved rough diamond into what you see now. The name change? It only seemed right that with a new start came a new name. Plus, that’s me – magazine hoarder/obsessive.
Together, Oli and I worked very hard to create something that represents me, and incorporated all the ideas I’ve had floating around my noggin for a REAL long time. I admit, I am a complete technophobe, and can just about download an app, let alone start fiddling with HTML and the like. So the new site has been a long time in the making, but so worth the effort and I am so proud to call it my own. And so excited/nervous/all the feels, to start blogging for you lovelies again.
So here goes – here’s to Mag Hag, the relaunch! May it be as exciting as I’ve hyped it up to be in my own little head to be. Keep your eyes peeled for REGULAR posts on everything from product reviews to outfit of the days, to home ware wish lists and fashion hauls that are basically me trying to justify my latest purchases to myself. I couldn’t be happier to finally be able to launch my virtual baby! Enjoy…
