Despite it being November and a miserable one at that in the UK, I’m still reminiscing back to the last month when I was sunning myself in dreamy Mexico and basically living my best life.
I spent hours trawling online for the perfect additions to my holiday wardrobe, especially looking for pieces I could easily take from day to night. Firstly to minimise my already bulging luggage weight and secondly to avoid spending a small fortune on summer attire I would only be packing away afterwards for the next few seasons.
Whilst there were a fair few pieces that caught my eye, it was the Spot & Stripe Mid Wrap Dress from Topshop that fitted perfectly with what I was looking for. It was love at first sight when I spotted this little number on an absolute fashion goddess at the train station on my morning commute. True story. She styled it loosely wrapped over a pair of raw hemmed jeans and bright yellow heels, and I just melted. By lunchtime I’d snapped one up for myself and couldn’t wait to experiment with all the potential outfit combos.
It’s so perfect for wearing as a floaty day dress with a pair of sandals, and then amping it up for an evening look with some heels and a pair of statement earrings. And it makes a great poolside cover up layered over a bikini.
The mix of spots and stripes really shakes up the monochrome look, and the cut is just so flattering with the subtle thigh slit, asymmetric hemline and split cropped sleeves; it’s got it all going on! It’s one of those pieces that gets compliments every time I wear it. Plus there’s no ironing required (even after being balled up in my suitcase) – BIG bonus!
It’s perfect for your holiday wardrobe and beyond, and I know it’ll be a firm summer favourite for me for years to come. If you’re jetting off for a bit of Winter sun or even just planning next year’s summer wardrobe, I’d definitely recommend snapping this little gem up while you still can!
