You may have noticed my social media was suddenly spamming you with envy-enducing beach scenes and the like a few weeks back. Basically because my boyfriend and I spent two lazy weeks in sunny Mexico and it was so freaking amazing that I couldn’t resist!
It might not be the season for it, but I personally can’t think of anything better right now than a break from this dreary English weather. Whilst already dreaming of next year’s holiday in the sun, I thought I would share some poolside style inspo for those of you lucky enough to be jetting off to catch some Winter sun…
Side note: Big shout out to all the pale girls out there – I think it’s safe to say I’m more than repping it for the pasty crew, even after a fortnight in 35 degree heat. My skin just doesn’t tan, never has. I was genuinely overwhelmed by the ever so slight hint of burn I did manage to achieve.
So obviously I packed a bajillion bikinis, but found that throughout our holiday I just couldn’t resist keep going back to the same key few.
First up, the sassy two piece. Stop the presses, this is hands down my favourite bikini of ALL TIME. Yep. I said it. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it and just knew that lace-patterned piece of goodness had to be mine! I just thought this was so different to anything else I’ve seen and the racer back style is super flattering. There are no more words.
Next, the mismatch set. I picked up both the top and bottom from H&M, and even though the colours are matching, these two didn’t actually come as a set – just thought they looked kinda cute together. I’m a sucker for anything nude and a serious palm-print enthusiast, so this combo is a real winner with me.
And my last swimwear fave is actually a one-piece. Very unlike me as I would never normally be confident enough to wear something like this. I used to always without exception go for padded, underwired bikini tops, but I’m all about change this year and trying to edge outside of my comfort zone. Probably not the most flattering on my teeny tiny bosoms, but yolo. The lace-up detail is so on trend right now and can turn the plainest pieces into real statement looks.
